Greetings to All,
Judy and I returned on Friday from our 5-day workshop with John Salminen, each with a full-sheet painting substantially completed. It was a wonderful workshop! Excellent instruction and guidance -- 18 extremely compatible participants -- great venue -- Landgrove Inn in Vermont, where we ate too much great food, talked a lot over good wine, slept like logs in the intense quiet, and worked as hard as we can remember.
On several days, we were in the studio for an hour or two before breakfast, then all day, except for meals, and then back there until 10 or 11 PM. Two days of drawing, then two and a half for painting. John had a running demo of about an hour on each of four days and then about 1.5 hours for critique on Friday. We had plentiful other opportunities to observe and practice techniques that he uses in his work, and we came away with 18 exciting paintings. Both Judy and I would highly recommend this workshop. And we can't imagine a better place for a workshop than the Landgrove Inn.
I went off to this event thinking it would be nice to get off the "train" of intense activity at home. I came home intensely satisfied but needing to get off the train! And the schedule doesn't let up until August...
