Mercy Center

I posted this last Thursday but I don't think people saw it.  The email doesn't go out till the next day and if there's two postings, then only the last posting appears in the email.  You have to click on the bolded title in blue in the email to be sent to the blog where you can scroll down to see earlier posts.

We had a full house, 19 painters! It certainly is the most I've ever seen at this paint out over the past four years (or is it five?).  It's because Mercy Center is one of the most beautiful locations on the shoreline to paint.  It has almost every subject, as you will see by the variety of paintings with all mediums.

Isabel, Ed, Rich, Sharon, Joan McP, Anne, Jay, Betsey, Denise, Cheryl, Judy, Jeannette, Pat, Sandy, Keiko, Phyllis, Julia, Tina, and I enjoyed an incredibly beautiful summer day.  No humidity. Those of us who painted in the shade were treated to cool sea breezes.  And at lunch, we were actually chilled! Mid-July and goosebumps—what a combination!

The marketing director walked around and took photos of us painting.  I thanked her for letting us come and she said that they are thrilled to have us.  After our somewhat boisterous lunch, let's hope that remains the case.

The extended forecast for next week is 90's and humid.  Next week's paint out was originally scheduled for the Guilford Docks but there's not much shade there.  Since many of us prefer shady areas, I'm thinking that Chaffinch Island would be a better location.  At Chaffinch Island, there's lots of shade and there might be a breeze off the Sound.  I'll post the call to paint on Monday with directions.
