Paint Out at Olmsted Outlook, Thurs Oct 18

This week we will be in Guilford at the small park at the end of Broad Street, Olmsted Outlook. Directions at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/ as usual. Marshes, the beginnings of fall colors, the gardens in the park, ducks on the West River, handsome historic houses on Broad Street. Plenty to paint.
See you there.

Last week, it rained in the morning, clearing up later. Nevertheless, Betsey managed to paint at Bauer Farm and sent me her lovely painting. It reminds me why so many of us persevere with watercolor!

Call to Paint at Bauer Farm Park, Madison, Thurs Oct 11

Bauer Farm Park offers much to paint. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. If it rains (and according to the Weather Channel, this is likely), you may still want to come, as there is a capacious shelter. The much-painted farm house is an interesting building; there are outbuildings and barns as well. A pond with covered bridge, a winding lane up to the communal gardens, fields, trees, and more. See you there.

Last week at Trolley Road in Guilford was very pleasant. Jay Bright, Nancy, and Veronica all found something of interest. The ragweed attracted multitudinous Monarch butterflies (at one point we counted seven on a clump) and bees competed for space. There were fishermen out on the rocks and on a boat,  catching lots of fish where the water races through the passage. We were interested in their activity (see Nancy's painting), and they admired our work as they headed back to their cars.

Paint-Out at Trolley Road, Thurs Oct 4

This week we'll be at Trolley Road, Guilford, directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. Beautiful views of the cove and lagoons.

Last week was gorgeous at Hammonasset. The sea sparkled, the rocks glowed, the sun shone, the breeze was gentle - couldn't have been better. Painters included Anne, Ed, Jane, Stacey, Veronica, and I believe Cheryl but I missed her. Betsey was over at Bauer Farm again, finishing her painting.

See you at Trolley Road on Thursday.

Call to Paint at Meig's Point, Thurs Sept 27

We'll be painting at Meig's Point, Hammonasset Beach State Park, Madison, a favorite spot for painters, this week. Directions as usual at our blog at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. Rocks, beach, and sea, and if too chilly, there are ponds and marsh in the other direction. See you there.

Here's a painting from last week at Bauer Farm Park in Madison.

Call to Paint at Dudley Farm Thurs Sept 20

Paint out at Dudley Farm, Guilford, on Thursday. One of our painters will be at Bauer Farm Park in Madison instead this week and you might prefer to join her. Directions to both locations are on our blog at
https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/
.

On another matter: The Hyland House Museum will repeat last year's very successful fundraiser on Sunday October 14 from 5 to 8.30 pm at the Owenego Inn in Branford. Funds raised will help put a new roof on the museum. For more information, please visit www.hylandhouse.org. Also, the organizers would love to have donations of paintings for the art auction; last year a watercolor of the rear of the museum featuring the famous shed roof caused lots of excitement. I know that many of you have painted on the property; perhaps you have a Hyland House painting you would be willing to donate (or any painting would be welcome, of course). If so, please contact me at veronicadotsoellatgmaildotcom.

Last week on the Branford Green brought out three painters (Nancy, Betsey, and Veronica) and one visitor (Jane). It was a very pleasant morning.

Paint Out on the Branford Green, Thursday Sept 13

Our destination this week is Branford Green; directions as usual on our blog at http://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. This is a very pleasant place. You'll find shops and people on Main Street's sidewalks, trees, benches, people, and lawns on the Green, as well as several interesting buildings. See you there.

Last week at Clinton's Town Beach was remarkably nice considering the hot weather. A breeze off the sea made it very comfortable, and we had six painters, Keiko, Nancy, Marlu, Jane, Betsey, and Veronica.
