The Medad Stone Tavern was built in 1803 by Medad Stone who expected the Boston Post Road to be rerouted past his building. Unfortunately for him, he was wrong. So his tavern never was a tavern, but instead a private home. In 2001 it was given to the Guilford Keeping Society and is now a museum. Directions as usual at
