Paint Out Tues & Thurs, June 1 & 3, Foote Memorial Park, Branford

I have not yet visited Foote Memorial Park but found a few photos.
These showed coastline or river with moored boats, trees, lawns, playground, tennis courts, and Veterans Memorial building. The two below are from branfordseven.com and zip06.com.

Beautiful weather last week at Chaffinch Island Park in Guilford brought out Yenna, Joe, Tom, Paul, and Betsey on Tuesday and Paul, Betsey, Tom, Veronica, and Jay Bright on Thursday. It is really a stunning location with occasional boats on the river going to and from the marina, gorgeous cloud formations over the shining sea, and Faulkner's Island on the horizon. Thanks, Betsey, for the beautiful photos.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs May 25 & 27 Chaffinch Island Park, Guilford

This park is where the West River flows into the Sound. Picnic tables, shade, sand and rocks (including this massive one), a lovely place. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

I did not manage to get to Chatfield Hollow last week but Betsey sent me Nancy's painting (above), and an announcement from Clinton Art Society about their upcoming Paint Outs, open to all painters, as well as their exhibition and art critiques. (I was unable to post this as a pdf, only as a jpeg. So if you download it you can enlarge it to be more legible.)

Paint Out Tues & Thurs May 18 & 20, Chatfield Hollow State Park, Killingworth

This week we'll be at Chatfield Hollow State Park. This is a favorite place to paint, with its calm lake, beach, trails, river, children bathing and playing. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

Last week we were in Clinton at the railway bridge over the Indian River. A good week for weather. Betsey reports from Tuesday: "Sunny spring foliage reflections shimmered on the Indian River this Tuesday morning.  Painters set up for the scenery along the river banks were Paul L., Cindy, Jay Babina, Liane & Eve.  Paul gave me a helpful demonstration on how to simplify a watercolor from a complicated drawing, using values" (image of the town hall and the river on the other side of the road).

On Thursday, Robin, Alisa, Tom, Betsey, Nancy, Veronica, Keiko, Jane, and Sally painted on another fine May day. The Indian River is such a pretty little river, and passenger trains rushed over the bridge several times while we were there.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs May 11 & 13 at Indian River Railroad Bridge in Clinton

Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html under CLINTON PARKING LOT AND RAILROAD BRIDGE, AT INDIAN RIVER.

On Thursday last week on the Guilford Green, we had Nancy, Cindy, Yenna, Tom, Betsey, and Veronica. It was very pleasant, lots of people with dogs, or small children, a big noisy happy group chatting, or just sitting enjoying the day. Apologies for being late with this post; it was a busy weekend. First hugs since early last year with our son and his wife!

Hope to see you this week at Indian River in Clinton.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs May 4 & 6, Guilford Green

This week we will paint on the Guilford Green and hope for better weather than last week. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

On Tuesday morning last week, Betsey tells me that a rough cold breeze was a distraction on the green in Old Saybrook. Four painters were there, Sandy and a friend set up on Main Street; Betsey and Alicia found spots on the green. She couldn't resist the magnolia but hasn't finished it yet. Thursday was rainy so, for the third Thursday in a row, I stayed home (I'm still enjoying painting on Tuesdays with the indoor group in the Munger Barn at Dudley Farm). Here are Betsey's photos (thank you!).
