Paint Out Tues & Thurs July 27 & 29, DEEP Headquarters, Old Lyme

Important notice!

The company Feedburner is discontinuing their email service in August. They have handled sending out our posts each week for the past ten years. With my computer-savvy son Oliver, calling in from Sweden, I have replaced their email signup/subscribe service with a new one from another company. Please sign up again to receive the regular posts. Go to the blog at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. You will find the Get New Posts by Email widget in the right-hand column. Until Feedburner actually stops (they have been erratic, changing their stop time from June to July and now to August), you may then receive two copies of the blog post. Better than none! Please be patient with me as I repeat this message far too many times! Quite a few of you have already signed up again. Thank you!
Veronica

This week we will paint at the DEEP Marine Headquarters. Directions on the blog in the right-hand column as usual.

Last week at the Florence Griswold Museum was delightful. The flower garden was spectacular. The weather both days was very good and we welcomed Nancy and her group from Fairfield, who came all that way to paint with us, staying overnight at the Old Lyme Inn across the street. Our familiar painters: Nancy, Beverly, Jean, Tom, Lorraine, Pam, Gretchen, Sandy, Veronica, Kathleen, Jane, Paul, Marla, and Joan M painted this week, and several of us came on both mornings.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs July 20 & 22 at the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme

Important notice!

Thanks, Veronica

Another note: Joan H asked me to post this: Looking for an artistic person to work with an elderly lady, formerly a graphic designer, in East Haven two or three times a week to help and encourage her in art/painting. Some compensation. Contact Bernadette DiGiulian, 203-214-0928, bpdigiul@aol.com.

This week we will paint at a favorite spot, the Florence Griswold Museum. The beautiful buildings, the colorful garden, the peaceful Lieutenant River - the American Impressionists loved to paint here back when Miss Florence ran her boarding house/art colony at the turn of the twentieth century, and so do we. Park in the furthest lot (on the way you can drop your equipment off on the grass near the museum).

Last Thursday at the CT River Museum in Essex, Nancy, Keiko, Sandy, Betsey, and Veronica found some shade to paint the view or the museum. It was very hot but we enjoyed the morning.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs July 13 & 15 at the Connecticut River Museum, Essex

This week we will be at the Museum. Information at https://ctrivermuseum.org/ and directions at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html

Last week at Chatfield Hollow State Park on Tuesday I found two painters, Cindy and Denise (it's a big place so there may have been others). The morning began cloudy but later was sunny and beautiful. Many dog walkers, and later families with children playing on the sand and in the lake. Plenty of shade, really a lovely place to paint.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs July 6 & 8, Chatfield Hollow State Park, Killingworth

Note: This destination is a change from previous schedule.

Lake, streams, beach, forest, very pleasant place to be, to paint, to picnic. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

No luck so far in fixing the email widget on our blog. We've been attempting to extract the email addresses so perhaps could transfer them to another email program. In the meantime, if you don't receive the blog post, please go the the site each week to see the newest post: https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/.

Last week was very hot. I don't know whether anyone painted on Tuesday. On Thursday it was cooler and rather grey; Keiko and Tom were there.
