Call to Paint, Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme, Thurs Aug 25, 9 to whenever

I sent this post out on Monday but for some unknown reason the blog added it below the message about Dudley Farm painting this fall, so you may not have seen it. I'm sending it out again and hope you'll see it in time!

The forecast is mostly sunny, 84 degrees, so it should be a good morning to paint in this lovely spot. Most painters like to find a place in or around the garden or Miss Florence's boarding house, or down by the Lieutenant River. We must park in the lot that is furthest away so you will probably want to drop your things off on the grass just before the museum building and walk back.

As I mentioned, the current show in the museum is The Artist's Garden, which is delightful. There is an admission charge for that, but we can paint in the grounds for free. Bring lunch and we'll gather around 12.30 or so.

Driving directions in the right-hand column of the blog at http://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/.

See you then.

Brewer Bruce & Johnson Marina, yesterday

This was a perfect morning in a perfect location. Sunny, a little breeze to make it comfortable in the large gazebo, and good company. There's always plenty of subject matter here, and we'll plan another paint-out at this marina soon to catch those of you who were unavailable yesterday or who are waiting for cooler weather.

Jay B, Sally, Sandy W, Sandy M, Gretchen with granddaughter Mallory, and  Veronica painted. Ann M and Joan H stopped by to say hello.

Next week at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme. Directions are in the right-hand column OF THE BLOG at http://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com (sorry I forgot to specify this in recent emails!). If you haven't painted there before, it is well worth the ride, and they have a lovely show on right now, The Artist's Garden. So bring lunch and plan to stay and see the show (entrance fee).

Sally and I took photos at the marina yesterday (Sally's are the best ones!).
