Paint Out Tues & Thurs Nov 16 & 18, Madison Town Green

This week we'll be at the Madison Town Green with plenty of interesting buildings and trees to paint.

Last week at Essex Park, on Tuesday three painters came, Yena, Cindy, and Tom. I heard that the town workers were there in the park with their leaf blowers making an infernal noise (and most of the leaves were still on the trees). And on Thursday, Yena painted, and I showed up late and left almost immediately because leaf blowers were working in no fewer than three different directions around the park making a diabolical racket. Otherwise, it was a beautiful day. Let's hope Madison Green this week will be peaceful.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs 9 & 11 Nov at Essex Town Park

Essex Park is delightful, from the gazebo looking back over the street and forward to the water, to the side with an interesting building. At this time of the year, it can be breezy and chilly so dress warmly. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html

I'm still hoping someone will volunteer to take over the coordination of our group. Please contact me if you are interested. You can use the contact form on the main page at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/. Veronica

Last week four of us braved the cold day on Thursday, Yenna, Jane, Veronica, and Cheryl (though I missed seeing her as I came late at 11 am). It was sunny and bright and the fall colors just beautiful.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs 2 & 4 November, Guilford Town Green

This week we will be back on the Guilford Green. There are many interesting buildings surrounding it and lots of trees with fall color on the Green. Also several coffee options if it gets too chilly - we are now into November.

Last week I didn't manage to get to Hammonasset (washing machine service problems. Life gets in the way of art), but Jane did (and maybe others) and sent me this and her photos ... "it was beyond delightful. Warm and gentle breeze. I!m not sure if other painters were around, I was in my rock nest."

Paint Out Tues & Thurs Oct 26 & 28, Meig's Point, Hammonasset State Park, Madison

This week we'll be at Meig's Point. If you like painting rocks or sea and sky, this is your week. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

Last week at Dudley Farm, Yenna, Cheryl, Paul, Veronica, Rosemary (new), Ed and Candace painted on a perfect fall day. Candace brought fellow painters from Hamden Art League, a delightful coincidence. Today's photos include some value sketches, interesting to see.

As I mentioned before, if you would be interested in taking over coordination of our CTSA group next spring, please let me know. I'm at veronicadotsoellatgmaildotcom.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs Oct 19 & 21, Dudley Farm, Guilford

This week we'll be at Dudley Farm in Guilford, one of our most popular destinations. Barns, sheep, oxen, chickens, farmhouse museum, all delightful. Directions as usual at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html

Before I give you this week's report, I would like to ask if one (or more) of you would be willing to take over the blog for me next year. I would like to retire from the task. I'll be happy to help set up the painting schedule if you wish, but I can't always be there to paint and take photos, so I am ready to hand it over (after about ten years!). It is fun, and you painters are always so generous in allowing me to take photos even before you have finished your work. Please give it some thought!

Last week we were at Olmsted Outlook in Guilford. On Thursday, with beautiful weather, Jay, Sandy, Nancy, Betsey, Veronica, and Jane were there. The marshes and trees already showing color; the river at high tide. Just lovely.

Paint Out Tues & Thurs Oct 12 & 14, Olmsted Outlook Park, Guilford

Next week we will be at Olmsted Outlook. This little park was reputedly designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who had connections to Guilford. It looks out on the West River and the marsh, and has beautiful trees and flower gardens (and ducks!). Directions (and parking information!) as usual on our blog at https://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html.

Today we had a good turnout at the Clinton Town Beach on a gorgeous day - so far October has been the best! I saw Nancy, Sandy, Tom, Betsey, Beverly, Yena, and Mike, and heard that Robin was also there. It is a great location with so many different painting subjects.
