Paint Out on Tues and Thurs, July 28 and 30, at Founder's Park, Old Saybrook

Last week at Bauer Farm Park on Tuesday, Betsey, Jane, Sandy, Eve, and Veronica painted on a hot but beautiful morning. The lily pond was the most popular spot. Photos below. On Thursday, Betsey tells me that Denise, Pam, Jay Babina, Sally, and Jane joined her there. It was slightly overcast but cool and pleasant. No photos of the paintings from Thursday. If anyone wants to send me a photo of their work from Thursday, please do: veronicadotsoellatgmaildotcom.

This week we will be at Founder's Park in Old Saybrook. As I recall there is very little shade there but it is high up over the marshes and maybe we'll catch a breeze. Directions on the blog at http://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/p/directions-to-venues.html. See you there.

Paint Out Bauer Farm Park Tues & Thurs July 21 & 23

Bauer Farm has always been a favorite location for our painters. It offers a variety of subjects: barns, interesting farmhouse and outbuildings, gardens, lily pond, bridge, gazebo, fields and trees, and community garden. There is a shelter with picnic tables, useful in case of the scattered thunderstorms anticipated by the Weather Channel for the upcoming week. Photos below.

But first, I want to show you Kay's delightful watercolor, inspired by the Guilford Green a month ago:

Hope to see you this week either on Tuesday or Thursday morning. I also hope that having a choice of mornings each week is working for your schedules.

Paint Out at DEEP Headquarters, Old Lyme, July 14 and 16

This week we will be at the CT DEEP Marine Headquarters, 333 Ferry Road, Old Lyme. I have not been there but here is something a visitor wrote: "This little park is right at the mouth of the Connecticut River and is beautiful in any season. The wooden boardwalk along the waterfront is always beautiful." I have been at the associated boat launch, which must be a bit further down from this park. Here are a couple of photos from the web:

and one from our visit to the boat launch last fall:
This past week, around eight painters were at the Guilford Docks/Marina on Tuesday, including Betsey, Patty, Jay, Tom, and Eve, and five on Thursday including Diana, Izzy, Tom, Veronica, and Eve. As you can see, the weather was cloudy on Tues and sunny on Thurs. Rewarding either way.

Paint Out Tues, Thurs, July 7 & 9, Guilford Town Docks & Marina

As in the past two weeks, we have two options for painting, Tuesday or Thursday (or both). This time it will be the Guilford Town Docks & Marina at the end of Whitfield Street. Views of the Lobster Pound, the Mooring restaurant, the Grass Island Shack, and of course, the boats. Directions as usual on our blog at http://ctsa-guilford.blogspot.com/.

Last week Betsey took pictures. She tells me "It was a beautiful, breezy day at Clinton Landing with several painters enjoying the scenery. Besides Tom, Jane & me, present were Bev S., Patricia S., Jeanette, Keiko, Isabel, Eve & Pam." Thanks, Betsey!
