Paint in Clinton Tues and Thurs this week

Sorry I'm late posting this week. Painting will be at Clinton Landing Tues June 30 and Thurs July 2. This location is behind the Clinton Town Hall, looking over the river down towards the sea or back towards the town.

I personally may or may not be there. If you are, you might take photos of the location and/or your and others' work and send them to me so I can post them here. My email is veronicadotsoellatgmaildotcom. I would really appreciate that. Our viewers do enjoy seeing these.

CTSA Schedule for June through August now posted

The new schedule is up, and the list of directions has been updated.
These photos go back probably ten years, right up until last fall. Everyone, everywhere. Are you among them? Join us. See you en plein air!

Painting on Tues June 23 & Thurs June 25, Guilford Green

Finally we start the season. Discussing with some other painters which weekday to paint together, we decided to try offering Tuesdays and Thursdays each week at the same venue. We hope this will make it possible for more of you painters to get outside and paint with us. Masks and physical distancing will be expected.

This coming week we will be on the Guilford Green. Lots of trees for shade, interesting buildings and other views, and a chance for being outdoors, which many of us haven't had enough of recently. The town hall bathrooms are reportedly open.

Happy Spring (I think...)

Hello everyone,

Now that we are all stuck at home, of course we haven't been able to go out to paint together. But maybe the time is coming soon - after all, next week you can get your hair cut if you haven't decided you actually like it long.

Two of our painters have offered their work to add to this blog post. Thank you, Rosemary and Kay. (Oops, the program isn't letting me do that; I will try again with another post.)

And here's an idea, borrowed from my sister's Dublin Sketchers group. They “go” to a particular place and all sketch that place and then send in their sketches so they can be put on the blog http://www.dublinsketchers.com/. (Obviously, the group can’t go to the destination in person so each person finds a photo online and works from that.) Take a look at last week’s Dublin Sketcher paintings of Howth Head, across the bay from the city. They are stunning (especially a sailboat by my sister Caroline!). Perhaps we could think of doing something similar along the shoreline.

Indoor Painting Workshop Availability

A group of CTSA painters meets weekly during the indoor months to paint together. We are just finishing up the winter session and will be beginning the spring session on March 24. There will be several openings for new or former participants.

We will meet for ten weeks on Tuesday mornings in the Munger Barn at the Dudley Farm Museum. The barn is used for events such as weddings, large parties, indoor farmers' markets, etc. It has lots of light, tables and chairs, and is a very pleasant place to be. When the weather is good, anyone who wishes is free to paint in the grounds where there are barns, the house, old farm equipment, oxen, chickens, sheep, a community garden, wild flowers, trees and fields.

The cost depends on how many painters sign up, and has varied in the past from around $50 to $80 for the ten week session.
